Variety reports that the “Lost” actor has joined the cast of “Thor: The Dark World”, director Alan Taylor’s sequel to the hit Marvel Studios film. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be bringing his unique brand of intimidation to the dual role of Algrim the Strong and Kurse, one of the film’s major villains.
In the comics, Algrim is the most powerful of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. His leader, Malekith the Accursed — played in the film by Christopher Eccleston — coerces him into doing battle with Thor. Once he’s defeated, he’s healed and transformed into Kurse, a super-strong warrior that makes both Algrim and Thor look like infants (via splashpage.mtv)
